“Our Students love sport aerobics! This is our 6th year with FISAF Australia and our numbers have quadrupled since we first started in 2017. It’s fun and healthy for the students and fantastic to have our school represented at the comps!”
“My Daughter has been participating in Sports Aerobics at school for the past year. She absolutely loves it. It is ideal for any child whom has a lot of energy to burn. It really is the perfect combination of dance and fitness, so she has been getting exercise while also having a ball learning dance choreography she can use for the rest of her life. The best thing about the program is that it is run during school hours, and at school so for us busy mums it means we are not having to find free afternoons or act as a Mum taxi driving them all over the place. Doing Sports Aerobics at school has also really fostered deeper and new friendships will children from school as they form teams and learn all about working together! Watching her compete proudly in sports aerobics has been delightful because she has new confidence and it didn’t even seem like hard work as she has loved every minute of her Sports Aerobics experience!”
“It was great to have the opportunity to partner with FISAF for their 2019 championships. The FISAF team were easy to deal with and made every effort to ensure we were given maximum exposure to ensure the partnership was mutual to both parties. Our business was able to generate extra revenue through the partnership and for this reason we are very excited to partner again in 2020!”
“HART Sport believes in facilitating and supporting everybody in all their sporting and active endeavours no matter their age, ability or circumstances. Whether it be at an elite level, or just as a fun activity with friends, sport defines our national character. This year HART Sport was able to partner with FISAF Australia for their 2019 National Championships. The event was a great success, with some really impressive skills and fitness levels on display – we are excited to continue our support next year!”
“The addition of Sport Aerobics at our College has fostered a fantastic culture and created a connected community.
Sport Aerobics in the Junior School has allowed kids to thrive and build important skills such as confidence, sportsmanship with their fellow peers and develop school pride which will lead them into their later years of schooling.
FISAF inspires and supports their members, and it continues to be a privilege to work with FISAF as we continue bringing this incredible sport to our students.”
– Brooke Cassar, Sport Aerobics Coordinator at Redlands College
“Our school loves being part of the FISAF community and competing at the competitions. Jade and her team are incredibly helpful, friendly and the competitions are always managed efficiently and professionally. As a teacher, I have found the pre-choreographed routines and instructions easy to follow. FISAF is a great aerobics community and we would highly recommend it to other schools.”
– Madeleine Dwyer, Peninsula Grammar School
“I am honoured to serve as one of the Australian School Stream Head Judges for FISAF Sport Aerobics.
This sport allows children of all ages and abilities to shine. It develops co-ordination, rhythm, fine and gross motor skills, all while creating team spirit and teaching children the meaning of good sportsmanship.
The FISAF competitions are run in a professional and exciting manner, and the team at FISAF are always accommodating and supportive.”
– Gemma Macmillan, FISAF Head Judge – School Stream
“Mentone Grammar has been involved with FISAF since 2018. It is one of the few sports that incorporates students across all year levels, that also promotes friendships, team camaraderie, laughing, smiling, being strong, flexible, healthy, active – and most importantly being part of a wonderful community. ”
- Shannon Seers, Head Aerobics Coach, Mentone Grammar
“My daughter has been an active participant of Sport Aerobics for 4 years. We chose this because it encourages collaboration, promotes sportsmanship, is inclusive and great for overall health and wellbeing.
We take great pride and delight seeing her thrive in the company of team mates at practices and competitions. In addition, she has an additional positive role model and that is her Coach.
FISAF Australia competitions are safe, inclusive, professional and well-organised. The atmosphere is second to none! Teams from across Queensland demonstrating excellent sportsmanship by cheering for each other.
Thank you FISAF Australia for promoting this sport and I look forward to seeing it in action at the 2032 Olympics (hopefully)!”
– Magdalene St. Clare, Parent, Redlands College
“We are a regional school, and have found FISAF staff to always be supportive, enthusiastic and encouraging – both over the phone and at competitions.
Students have developed sportsmanship while training and attending FISAF events, this is evident with all teams at events – competitions are fun and give students the opportunity to represent their school.
No specialized equipment is required, and with the guidance of FISAF coaches and judges, a school Sport Aerobics program is a realistic opportunity as the school programs are so easy to follow. Our school has not looked back, with teams competing from Prep to Year 6 – so much fun, teamwork, new skills and physical activity are all positive outcomes.”
– Margaret-Mary Opstelten, HPE Teacher, Gladstone West Primary School
“As a primary school teacher with no aerobics experience, the FISAF School Stream programs are easy to use, well organised, and a wonderful way to create a school wide athletic community which focuses on fun, fitness and participation.
Our school has been running the program for 4 years and has grown from 1 team consisting of experienced aerobics students, to now 12 teams comprised of 120 students including both boys and girls. The school stream has allowed our students to medal at local, state and national competitions.
Our program is run by school staff who are all teachers or teachers aides and the support we receive from the FISAF staff allow us to run it this way, keeping our costs down and ensuring the program is accessible for all students who wish to participate.”
